Maurizio's provides excellent Italian cuisine for all ages By Andrea Vasquez Morgan Hill has some relatively new restaurants that are unbelievably elegant and delicious. Upon the boredom filled nights in this small town, I ran across the newly moved restaurant, Maurizio's. It's new location is right off Monterey road, in downtown Morgan Hill. The owner Maurizio Cutrignelli features dinner specialties in excellent Italian cuisine and the wonderful feel of a jazz club. "It's and outstanding music experience when we have our live shows," said Cutrignelli. He features a group called The Water on Thursday nights from 6:30 -9:30, and Fridays are entertained with Eric Charles from 7-11p.m. And Saturdays consist of a Ralston jazz singer from San Francisco named Dave Schnittman. With the jazz era re-created within his walls, Cutrignelli perfects his homeland dishes. He migrated from Italy in 1993. With him, came his recipes for award-winning dishes, including soups, pastas, and salads. He holds exquisite menus and desserts are at a candlelit table. He also holds a bar for adults featuring specialty drinks and fine California wines. Cutrignelli is extremely flexible with his customers and his menu. "I can do almost anything they ask as far as substitutions in the food, as long as it doesn't mean going to the grocery store," he said. "During the week, adults mostly come out but on the weekend there are teenagers that do come out. But my restaurant is not just for the 21 and up, Alcohol is not necessary to have a good time," he continued "I want people to go out and enjoy themselves. The way I was raised is that you work all day every day and go out after work to relax and release the stress of your day. I believe you have to do something out of your normal routine," he explained. His establishment contains a large banquet room for any type of meeting, special event and private parties.
